Fashion Product Developer
As a fashion product developer, my goal is to relieve the stress of the technical part of design so you can focus on the creative side. I help brands move from idea to production with as little confusion as possible. I can take an idea, sketch, mood board, or reference garment, and turn that into a design. From there, I translate the final design into a detailed flat and create a tech pack, which includes measurements, construction details, fabrics, trim specs, labels, and any special finishes. I support fit development by reviewing samples, noting fit and construction issues, and suggesting specific pattern or measurement adjustments. Beyond that, I help with sourcing fabrics, trims, and factories as well as, manage communication with factories to ensure each sample gets closer to production ready.
What I Do
I work with brands on the technical side of design, including:
Tech packs – flats, specs, BOM, and construction notes. The tech pack will include everything needed for the factory to carry out the design.
Fit Development – make corrections, and note adjustments needed based on real fittings.
Grading support – create measurement charts and grade rules for size runs
Design development – I take your reference photos, sketches, and ideas and help you shape them into a clear garment concept. I refine the silhouette, details, and proportions, then translate the final direction into a clean flat sketch.
Sourcing support – I research and identify suitable fabrics, trims, and manufacturers based on your design, target price, and quality level, and assist with communicating requirements so you get samples that are ready for production.
If you have a strong visual identity but struggle to get clean samples back from factories, that’s where I come in.
